Romans 14
Unity Without Uniformity
This passage addresses how Christians should handle disagreements over matters of conscience where Scripture does not give a clear command. Paul warns against judging or despising fellow believers because of differing convictions. Instead, we should examine our own hearts, become thoughtful and settled in our beliefs, and ensure our decisions are made in faith and honour the Lord. Christian freedom must also be guided by love. We should never use our convictions or freedoms in ways that cause others to stumble. Rather, we are called to pursue peace and build one another up. Remembering that God has welcomed our brothers and sisters, and that Christ died for them, gives us the grace to disagree without dividing.
