Worship That Reflects God
What should Christian worship look like? From 1 Corinthians 14, we see five principles: worship should be gathered, edifying, intelligible, peaceful, and ordered. Worship is not simply a collection of personal preferences, but a shared encounter with God shaped by Scripture. Its purpose is to build up the church, communicate clearly, reflect God’s character, and help believers grow together. The order of worship matters not because order itself is the goal, but because our worship should reflect the movement of the gospel, from God calling us, through confession and forgiveness, to hearing his Word, responding in faith, and being sent with his blessing. Above all, worship points us to a God who loves his church and has graciously shown us how to draw near to him.
